This guide will mainly focus on making music via dectalk

I recommend reading this as it is a great general guide for how dectalk works.

The one downside to dectalk imo is you can't have multiple tracks


PART 1 - BASIC FORMATTING

The basic formatting for what I call "TONES" is this.

Phonemes aren't as hard as you think.

They are formatted like this.

[{phoneme}<{PhonemeLength},{PhonemePitch}>]

An example of what it looks like is this

PART 2 - TONES

Tones are basic.

They only have 2 parts.

The first part is the tone in hz.

The 2nd part is the tone's length.

Since dectalk only has one track what you need to do to play chords is play 3 or more notes really fast, one after another.

A useful resource I recommend for this is dbkai because it has a midi converter (also writing bells for dectalk is nicer then remembering all of the note to hz conversions)

PART 3 - PHONEMES

Phonemes are a bit complex, not nessicarly in the fact that it's difficult to use but there's so many more variables and combinations of them.

An example of this is

A good resource I recommend is this as it has a good list of all of the phonemes you can use.


PART 4 - PHONEME LENGTH

This part is the only easy part about phonemes

The length is in ms

it's formatted like this

using '.' ',' and '_' will allow the tts to breathe while singing as shown in the example above


PART 5 - TUNING THE VOICE

I recommmend for this portion you use this as it will be important for this section

Literally just add the pitch after the phoneme length like this
